How long do the programs take?

CDL A -  Up to 8-10  weeks (Permit Class included)

CDL B - Up to 3 weeks (Permit Class included)

Financial Literacy and Job Placement. 2 -4 weeks from 10am-12pm.

How much can I expect to make afterward?
After completing the DRIVING Beyond Barriers program one could gross $23-$38 hourly, all depending on your qualifications and endorsements.

What does the schedule look like?
Typically the schedule is as follows: for the first two weeks, each participant will go through orientation and general knowledge, pre-trip training, job placement, and financial literacy. Weeks 3 and 4includes a trip to the school and pre-trip training. Weeks 5, 6, and 7 include driving practice at the school. Weeks 8-10 will focus on training and the road test. 


Who do you serve? 
MTG serves a diverse population of economically challenged individuals from Minneapolis and its surrounding suburbs, which are Plymouth, St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Edina, and Eden Prairie.

Do you have to be a Hennepin County resident to apply for this program?
Currently, yes. Mind the G.A.P.P. continues to work hard to receive funding from its economic partners to serve other counties and cities.


How often do the classes for the CDL program take place?
Every month a Cohort of 7 qualified participants are enrolled in the program.
